The movie. Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham. Ryan Phillippe. Surprisingly good, twisty, suspenseful and fun. Its blow shit up, with a plot that twist and turns all over the place.

We watched that, and the pilots for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Picket Fences, and MacGyver last night.

Now we’re off to see Vantage Point.

So, we watched "Death at a Funeral" last night. Really fun movie, you have to see it. Alan Tyduk gave a wonderful performance.

Top Gear

Felling better still. just watched Top Gear, a wonderful British motoring show, and was amazed that the "Nissank" made it across the channel from Dover to France.

Also finished watching series 3 of Doctor who last night. Now we can watch Series 2 of Torchwood, without spoiling anything we’ve not seen.

Feeling better still. Though it looks like I passed it on to Herself. Not exactly what I wanted.

Anyway, we’ve had a nice quiet day watching the new Doctor Who with David Tennant, who we first saw in a Mrs. Bradley mystery. It also starred Peter Davison, who was the 4th Doctor, and is now "Dangerious" Davies, in "The Last Detective". British SF and British Mysteries are one of our things here. As a break we watched a bit of Midsomer Murders, another British mystery we love. John Nettles. Hmm.

I’m feeling better. the Flu is mostly kicked, but now, I’m having a bit of sinus problems. My sinuses dried up, and the pressure in my head felt like my brain was being squeezed out through my tear duct. A bit of hot soup, a face full of steam, some pain meds, and lots of rest seemed to do the trick.

Anyway, I finished another few books recently, that I’ve not mentioned. First, "With the Lightnings" by David Drake. Not bad. A fun space opera romp. Second, is actually three books, "Crossover", "Breakaway", and "Killswitch" by Joel Sheapherd. All of which are a full throttle rush, in a cleaner, neater cyberpunk future.

That said, I’m now looking for new Military SF a la "Honor Harrington".

So I just got back from my doctor, and I have the real flu. Not a stomach virus but Influenza A of some kind. I have the virus that wiped out whole sections of the population back in 1912. Wheeeeee.

I hope to be feeling better in about a week, but the cough is likely to hang around for about four weeks.

Wanted

I just finished the "Wanted" trade paperback. pretty cool.

I liked Mark Millar in "The Ultimates" series, and so I picked this up on the strength on hid name, not the fact that it’s supposed to be a movie. Truth be told, a movie of this would be cool, but I like the story enough that I could do without a movie. I mean, I liked "V for Vendetta" as a comic, but I thought the movie blew.

Anyway, if your at a comic shop, pick up two collections. One, "Wanted" by Millar, Jones and Mounts. And Two, "Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter: First Death" which I co-wrote.
